Celebrating our Faith

St Mary of the Cross

Next Thursday, 8th August, 3 Gold will lead the Mary.jpgschool in prayer as we celebrate the
feast day of St Mary of the Cross MacKillop, the patron saint of Australia. Mary led a remarkable life serving others. At an early age, Mary worked as a governess teaching her Aunt’s children as well as children living in poverty. Mary believed that all children deserved an education and dedicated her life to educating the poor and gave hope to many. St Mary was the founder of the Sisters of St Joseph which is the order that opened our school.

Please join us in the Hall on Thursday at 9am as a school community to pay tribute to this amazing lady.

First Communion

We joyfully acknowledge and celebrate the students making their First Communion over the coming weekends 10th/11th August and 17th/18th August. This milestone marks a significant step in their spiritual journey, being completely welcomed into the Catholic church, symbolising their deeper connection with Christ and the church community. We commend their dedication and preparation, which reflect their growing faith and understanding of God's love. This special occasion is not only a personal achievement for each child but also a moment of pride and joy for their families and our entire parish community. As they receive the Eucharist for the first time, we pray that they continue to grow in faith, hope, and love, always feeling the presence of Christ in their hearts. Please keep our communicants in your prayers by praying the following prayer.

Heavenly Father,

We lift up to You the young hearts and souls of our First Communion candidates. Bless these children as they prepare to receive the Holy Eucharist for the first time. May this sacred sacrament fill them with Your grace, love, and peace. Guide them in their faith journey, nurturing their trust in Your divine presence. Help them to grow in wisdom and understanding, embodying the teachings of Jesus in their daily lives.

Surround them with the support and prayers of their families, friends, and church community. May their hearts remain open to Your guidance and may they always seek to walk in Your light. As they receive the Body and Blood of Christ, let them feel the profound connection to Your love and the larger faith family.

We ask this through Your Son, Jesus Christ, who lives and reigns with You and the Holy Spirit, one God, forever and ever.

Father's Day

Save_the_date.jpg

Father’s Day is fast approaching and we as the St Joseph’s school community would love to celebrate how important our fathers, uncles, grandfathers or people who are like fathers to us are. After breakfast, we will celebrate the special time on Friday 30th August with liturgy in the Church.
