On Wednesday 14th February we, as a school community, will be celebrating Ash Wednesday Mass and our Student Leadership Induction Ceremony with Fr Anil. Fr Anil has come from St Mary Immaculate Parish Charlestown to assist Fr John, this year and is looking forward to celebrating with us. All our St Joseph’s families are warmly invited to celebrate with us in the church at 9:15am. Reserved seating will be available for parents of students who are being inducted as 2024 student leaders, with additional seating available upstairs for other families.  

As Ash Wednesday is the same day, we will celebrate the beginning of Lent. We will mark the students’ foreheads with a cross of ashes to remind them to be more like Jesus and of the sacrifice that Jesus made for us. As you enter the school during this time you will see the colour purple around, this symbolises the anticipation of the pain that Jesus endured at the crucifixion. 

2024 Sacramental Program 

Attention families in Years 4, 5 and 6, if you are yet to sign up to this year’s sacramental program please do so by clicking the green enrolment link on the parish sacraments page and fill out the Microsoft Form by clicking the green enrolment button. The dates for this year’s Sacramental program are:  

• Reconciliation: 12 and 13 March  
• Confirmation Retreat: Thursday 16 May 
• Confirmation: 21 and 22 May 
• First Communion: Weekends of 10-11 August and 17-18 August.
