Modern-Day Saints: Inspiring Our Children

On 7 September, Pope Leo XIV canonised the first two saints of his pontificate – Carlo Acutis and Pier Giorgio Frassati. Both of these young men are powerful examples of how holiness can be lived in today’s world. Their deep faith, generosity, and modern witness to the Gospel continue to inspire people of all ages, reminding us that sainthood is not only for the past but very much alive in the present.

Students may especially connect with these saints: Carlo Acutis, often called the “cyber-apostle,” used his love of technology to share his faith online, while Pier Giorgio Frassati, known for his adventurous spirit, dedicated his life to serving the poor and standing up for justice. Their lives show that young people can live their faith with courage, joy, and creativity.
